Just because I'm happy

I splurged and bought myself a new bracelet today. My mom and I were at a jewellers' to buy a bracelet as a gift for a cousin of mine who graduated yesterday, and among the bracelets we saw was this one that was just gold threads braided together... so I bought it. My first major impulse buy, and the most expensive piece of jewelry I've ever bought (and the most expensive I own, I think). Was €175 originally (you do the conversion...) but it came down to €150 because they gave us a discount on the total (both the one I bought and the one we bought for my cousin). It's really pretty, I'll try and get a photo of it tomorrow (but it's difficult because it's shiny and detailed). It's basically very fine gold threads woven (or braided... they're so fine I can't see the details of the weave) to make three flat cords, which are then braided to form the bracelet. It's flat and it's about 4mm wide and I love it :D

My, that sounds lovely. Can't wait to see a photo!

Humm, I need to get more jewelery. I picked up some really cheap stuff on holiday, of course. Gotta get souveneirs. So I've got a ring made of iron ore (has mystical powers, apparently), a broochy-thing in the shape of an owl (tacky colourful thing) and a silvery cresent moon choker.

I'll upgrade them to REAL, decent stuff in time.
