Such is life

*yawns and stretches* So I'm actually done with university now. Well, not done done - I still need to do one essay (which I will probably do later today or tomorrow), and then I need to discuss my dissertation (that's on the 30th) - but no more exams, my last one was on Friday. Yay!
Now I have to find the will to tidy my room. Granted, it needs it, it's not really been tidied in months, I have stacks of manga everywhere... but I'm a bit grumpy that I'm now out of excuses to not tidy it. :P
And then after tidying my room, I get to upgrade the OS on this computer and play Thief 3. Now that I'm looking forward to. :D
And yes, yes, I'll also update my poor neglected websites. And catch up on everything else I need to do. Even though I don't know how I'll manage to do everything, since I only have a month before I leave for Edinburgh for the summer... ahh well. We'll see.

And now for stress relief, once more. This one I'm hiding in an extended entry, because it's long and not particularly polite. Not that the other rants were polite, but this one is going to be quite worse. I'm really fed up with this jackass.

I help out on a mIRC scripting forum, yeah? I'm a moderator there. It's usually a good, nice, fun place to help out in, except for the occasional jackass. There's one specific dimwit who has been trying my patience, though. I have already mentioned him in this post (#3).

Here's a short summary of everything that's happened since that post. (Keep in mind that this all was started by me posting this:

mIRC isn't a downloading program, IRC isn't a filesharing network. That some people use it for that doesn't change the fact that it's not. Not going to help you with that, sorry.
Gee, how dare I have an opinion.)

After getting that thread locked, Mr. Holier-Than-Thou decided to continue on his insulting path. He thus created two further threads.
Thread #1 was titled "Does Moderation - Force Censorship". Thread #2 asked where a specific download went. Both made me grit my teeth, because they were clearly designed to shovel more shit onto me.

Thread #1 claimed that me "barging in on threads with my unwarranted opinions" was equivalent to censorship, "set[ting] a trend of single minded opinion" and "frighten[ing] individuals into not answering questions for fear of being thrown out of the forum", and demanded to know what happened to freedom of speech.
Thread #2 asked if a specific script that was available for download had been removed because it was related to filesharing, then answered itself saying that oopsie, it just wasn't in the Top 10 downloads anymore, but it was still available for download. It then asked me specifically (keep in mind this for later) why, and to explain the difference between Mr. Holier-Than-Thou's inquiry and the script. "Don't both help with filesharing?"

Thread #1 got a reply from me which could be summed up with, "uh, look, I don't censor people, I was simply stating my personal opinion and not acting as a moderator, and I have a right to do that; if I'd wanted to censor and suppress other opinions I would have locked the thread; another person did answer you after I stated my opinion, so they weren't scared away". I prefixed the whole post with a disclaimer that stated that I was, again, just saying what my personal opinion was, and that I was not speaking for the whole forum, just for myself.
Thread #2 got a semi-snippy reply (I was losing my patience by then) about the difference between personal opinion and moderator duties, and how the former does not influence the latter and vice versa.

Both threads saw a few more replies by me and Mr. Holier-Than-Thou. I eventually stopped replying, though, since it was clear that his only interest was shovelling more shit onto me, and that his definition of "freedom of speech" was "everybody but sailoreagle gets to speak". Every time I said anything, it was just me "justifying my incessant need to be the center of attention".

Both threads (and a third one he'd posted in the meantime) languished all day, even though people posted quite a lot in other threads in the same forum. It was quite clear nobody could really be bothered to argue with the dipshit.

Then, while I was sleeping, a member posted to Thread #1, defending me, pointing out that I (and other mods) are volunteers, that Mr. Holier-Than-Thou was doing nothing but pestering me, etc.

When I got to the thread, Mr. Holier-Than-Thou had already replied. And gods, did that reply make my blood boil...

So we get to the point of this post. (Yes, yes, I'm longwinded, shush.) I can't quite tell Mr. Holier-Than-Thou to fuck off in the forum itself, since I'm a moderator and I keep things nice, polite and non-flamy, so it would be a bit silly to flame him to a crisp. Besides, I like that forum, and the less attention this fucknugget gets, the sooner he leaves and the forum goes back to being a nice place. So I'm posting what would be my reply here instead, with choice quotes from his post.

This is certainly a strange forum.
No, dipshit, you're the strange one. You're a sad, sad little man. You believe you're entitled to people bowing down to you and worshipping the ground you walk on everywhere you go. That is not the case. Oh, that is so not the case.
I have been trying desperately not to converse with SailorEagle
And this is why you've made two extra threads about this whole situation, instead of just letting it go. Yeeeeees. Right.
as she has had nothing but her own opinions to convey,
I have an opinion? No SHIT, Sherlock. Gee, how dare I have an opinion and post with it. But I guess that since this opinion is different than yours, and also goes against your belief that everybody else in the world was born to kiss your ass, I completely lose my right to my own opinion.
Also, I guess I got to 1000+ posts in the forum just posting my opinions and badgering people unnecessarily, and just hadn't realized it this far. Thanks or enlightening me.
none of which have been of the slightest help to me or anyone else.
Uh huh. Congratulations, shitwit, you've completely failed in this test of basic observational skills. Come back when you've had an upgrade in braincells and can notice that the vast majority of my 1000+ posts in the forum are me posting scripts for other people. Who most of the time don't even bother to thank me after I have spent my free time scripting for them.
It is her who keeps badgering my posts.
I guess I am, in a way. I was the only one replying to your threads. Do consider, though, the possibility that everybody else who saw the threads couldn't be bothered to try and pound sense into you, because you're clearly a hopeless fucktard; also, please, if you don't want me to "badger your posts", don't ask me directly for an answer in them, mentioning me by name and all. Dickwit.
As for being a "Guest" in a forum I believe that term is used for people who read and move on, (the sensible ones in this case) not those who register and try to take part. Those are called "Members".
Sorry, jackass, but clicking the "register" button like the moronic monkey you are (no wait, that's insulting monkeys...) - which I hope didn't overly tax your lone braincell too much - does not give you the amazing priviledge of having your butt kissed by everybody in the forum forever and ever amen, and it doesn't give you a right to treat them like shit. You're still a guest in a private establishment.
You make the editors sound like a charity not a business. I presume the advertising links are non revenue making are they?
For somebody who is apparently an Internet Crime Investigator (like I believe that... those people usually tend to be experts in their field, not clueless fucknuts like you), you seem to lack basic knowledge of how advertising on the internet works. That forum is not mine, so I can't know exactly how much the site owner gets from the ads, but I frankly doubt it's as much as you're thinking. It's probably just enough to cover the cost of hosting. Very likely it's much less.
And yes, us editors are not a business. We're unpaid. We're volunteers. We spend our free time answering questions. It's called "being nice and helpful". It's called "having a hobby". It's called "sharing knowledge rather than hoarding it like you are, fuckwipe".
If sailoreagle is not in it for the money guess I was right in my own opinion (I think it has been conveyed that we are all entitled to one right) that she has no life except this one.
*BEEP* Wrong answer. Try again, fuckwad.
I'm a student (though I will be an ex-student soon, I'm graduating in a week and a bit). I create webpages. I help run an IRC network. I script mIRC. I draw. I write. I sing. I've found a job for this summer.
You're an "Internet Crime Investigator" who lacks basic skills and knowledge of the very thing he is "investigating". You completely lack people skills. You have entitlement issues. You believe everybody else in this world was born to kiss your ass.
Hmm. I think there's a term for people like you. Oh yes... "conceited self-important egomaniacal miniature shitstain that even a hungry fly would avoid". You are telling me that I have no life? Hahaha.
I actually feel sorry for her.
Thanks, that's so sweet. *patpat* Now run along, before my feelings for you turn from amusement to "I must nuke you off the world just so you don't breed, because your genes are clearly defective.
I am purely doing this for the money and am not ashamed of that at all.
Yes, That makes you such an utterly wonderful person. I bet that's why you're divorced, because if your wife asked you for a kiss you asked her to pay a $1 fee. I have no idea what dirty, shitty hole in the ground "people" like you crawl out of - so while you're here, can you please tell me? So I can dump a metric fuckton of cement over it and save the world from asswipes like you.
I am pleased to find you have received a fair bit of help but I can point you to posters who have ben trashed with unwarranted opinion about their hard work which does not amount to anything more than a superiority trip by sailoreagle.
Uh... huh. Riiiiiight. There's only one person I can think of that I had a go at. Let's call him Person X. He had a go at me, too. Then he came look for me on IRC. And we talked. And we sorted things out, and we both agreed that the other had a point. And I apologized publicly. But I guess your observational skills are limited to looking at a post in that same thread by one of your fellow jerkwits, which contained a tall stack of insults towards me, and thinking, "hey, that looks fun! I'm going to do it, too!"
On your statement about moderation I think the answer to that is "when is a moderator not a moderator" In sailoreagles case it is when she wants to butt in to a conversation with nothing useful to give but her own personal opinion. She then "Demands" member status.
Gee, I was under the impression that conversations were composed of personal opinions. Guess I was wrong.
Also, you little cumstain, I am a member of the forum. I registered as a member. I was then offered a moderator position by the site owner, because I was around often and I posted a lot and I was generally helpful. Moderator duties consist in 1. cleaning up double posts and crossposts 2. editing out broken scripts from threads 3. locking threads that ask for scripts to take over channels and suchlike, or that have turned into a full-out flamewar. That's all. I rarely ever have to use moderator powers, the forum generally runs itself. And the fact that I am a moderator does not mean I no longer am allowed to post in threads and offer my opinion.
I have not got impatient with the speed of responses in fact Sailoreable has consistantly managed to reply to my posts in minutes whereas individuals like yourself at least wait to make an opinion. She seems to have me on her watch list which is quite a compliment dont you think.
Once again you show an utter lack of observational skills. I'm a moderator. I visit the forums at least three times a day. Also, you know, I looked at the times in all the threads again. There's only one case in which I have responded to one of your posts (by pure chance) a few minutes after it was posted. In all other cases, the time interval was anywhere from 45 minutes to three and a half hours. Learn to count, nitwit.
Shame your response wasnt related to my script questions but that seems to be par for the course in this forum.
Yes, because you asked a script question in this thread, instead of asking people an opinion on "censorship". (Insert that animated eye-rolling smiley here.)
If I may parphrase a comment in a locked post which may still be read, it is something to the effect that one should not try to argue with sailoreagle or she will always have the last word.
You don't even know how to paraphrase. The comment, in a locked thread which may still be read, said this: "dont mess with sailoreagle........she'll pwn you for sure.....there no winning...>_<"
Now, I dunno about you, but I read that as a joking compliment. Especially since it's from somebody who's one of the few regulars of the forums, and who knows I'm not normally abrasive or grumpy. You might have found that out by yourself if you'd bothered to look beyond your overly long and self-important nose.
The post was locked by [other moderator] as she wasnt and to my mind her attitude was shown up big time.

[Other moderator] bailed her out to save her more embarrasement. It appears she cant learn from the experience.

No, the other moderator locked the post because one of your fellow fuckwads, who I have already ranted about, decided it would be fun to make a post that was just one long, drawn out, full of cusswords flame.
Help is great, but if you just want to be unhelpful and trash people from a 4 second opinion (another post quote) then you just drive people away.
I'm sure. Which is why the person I "trashed from a 4 second opinion", who coincidentally is Person X (gee, how come that with so many poor, little, defenceless users I trashed, you couldn't find more than one example?), is still around and posting on the forum, and is slowly turning into a regular poster.
I agree that time is important and I am off never to return.

This forum was totally over rated and uninspiring.

Don't let the door hit your ass on your way out. Though, I know, that will be difficult, since your ass has had to expand to accomodate your overinflate head. May I suggest contacting a proctologist?

[EDITED] And of course, while I was gone, two more posts were made in the thread.
One was the fellow fucktard I mentioned (who was also mentioned in this post, #2), who of course did his best to join in the shit-slinging, stating that the reason the forum is going down is that it has me as a moderator. And why? Because I dared to step in when he was flaming and insulting another member for no reason. Newsflash, idiot, your vendetta against me and another guy (who is, coincidentally, a moderator on another mIRC script forum) only serves to make you look ridiculous.
The other post, though, was by the other moderator:

To quote the site's webmaster the ad revenues barely pay for the hosting costs. The editors receive no money and the profit from the ad revenues is negligible.

At this point it is clear you are trolling the forums making personal attacks, belligerent and sexist comments.

I will close this thread and any other threads you start on this topic.

Three cheers for good moderation. :D

Why is there no such thing as literal open season on IRC fuckwits? WHY??

Posted by: Nyx at June 27, 2004 07:37 AM

Because nobody has made an IRC gun yet.

Has anyone read Neuromancer? (surley most of you have.) In it the Turing police require all AI to have a EMP cannon built into their computer so it can be destroyed if it turns nasty.

Internet users should have the same! (well, at least for the first few months.)
